Legends Basketball, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed in 2008 with the goal of fostering the love of the game of basketball in boys and girls ages 10-17.  While basketball is the vehicle by which Legends reaches youth, everything done in the Legends program is done through the lens of developing the whole person.  The development of our young men and women into quality people is our highest calling as we strive in every way to “Leave it Better.”

Our skill development is the foundation of what we do.  We proudly offer instruction and coaching from some of the best coaches and trainers in Wisconsin, led by our Directors of Player Development and Operations, Laken James (Girls) and Will Ryan (Boys).  Laken and Will lead a group of coaches with an impressive resume of professional, college and high school coaching experience who hold our players to the highest standards – stressing teamwork, attitude, work ethic and a growth mindset.  Together, our coaching staff spends time teaching the game and mentoring players at all levels though individual and group training sessions.  It is this skill development coupled with the type of player who wants to be “legendary” in everything they do, that ultimately leads to success on the court.

Our teams play in competitive AAU tournaments at all age levels.  Although the level of play and competition of AAU basketball is not for every athlete, Legends is proud to offer opportunities for multiple skill levels at each age group to allow opportunities for growth to as many players as possible.  Every player develops at a different pace and we understand that the best athlete on our 17U team might not have been the best athlete when they were being developed as a 10U player.  We meet each player where they are in their individual journey.  We see our role as giving those kids who genuinely want to grow all the tools they need to reach their potential.  Ultimately, we want every Legends athlete to return to their high school program as a better all-around player.

Many of our athletes have interest in playing college basketball and our staff works with these players and families to provide the necessary exposure to college coaches from NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO.  This exposure is provided in part though the high-level events in which our teams play in the Spring/Summer and in part through the connections of our coaching staff.  Our staff has significant experience with the recruiting process and is always willing to assist our players and families navigate the challenges implicit with the process.  Since its inception, Legends has helped to assist many athletes reach their dream of playing college basketball.
